iPad-based Lessons

Media Literacy

Media education is part of the educational mission of schools. The use of digital media must be pedagogically guided.

Promoting media literacy is therefore one of the key objectives of Realschule Grünstraße. Since the 2012/2013 school year, RSG has been fostering media literacy through instruction in iPad classes.

In line with the Media Competence Framework NRW, students at Realschule Grünstraße are guided towards an independent, competent, and critically reflective use of digital media.

Media Equipment in the Classroom

iPad Classes

Students in the iPad classes begin working with their own iPad from Year 5, which is purchased by their parents.

In Year 5, the iPad classes receive two hours of computer science per week. From Year 6 to Year 10, they receive one hour of computer science per week using the iPad.

Students can also practice at home on their iPads and deepen the content covered in lessons. They bring their iPad to school every day.

Textbooks are available in digital form on the iPad, so carrying physical books is no longer necessary, making school bags lighter.

The use of iPads offers the opportunity to support each student individually.
